Caulking Tip
Have you ever been finishing up a great remodeling job in your bath room or in the kitchen, and all you have to do is caulk around a few things (i.e. toilet, sink, etc.)? Well that's all fine and dandy but when you try to caulk in small spaces, or in areas that you cant reach, you mess up your perfectly finished remodeling job, and on top of it you got caulk every where. Well here is a little tip that I've seen that works perfect for those types of areas.
First we need to go to the local hardware store or home improvement store and pick up some supplies, or you may already have them at home, which ever. What we are going to need for this tip is a piece or a couple of pieces of tubing, about 3/8 to a half inch is fine depending on the type caulking tube that you have. If you are at the store grab a caulking tube that is the same that you are using and test fit the tubes on it. make sure it tight but not to tight that you can't get it on, but not to lose that you can take it on and off with ease, and then when you go to use it caulk will come out the wrong end and make a mess. You will need a pieces that is long enough to do the job there is no right or wrong size just use your best judgment on how long a piece you need and if you don't know get about 10' and cut the size you need when you get home. Now with a 10' piece I'm sure that you will have plenty extra if you mess up.
The second thing that we are going to need is duct tape now if you don't know what duct tape is and don't have it readily available at your house you better: A. just ran out and haven't had time to go to the store. Or: B. not a home improvement buff.
Now Push the tubing on to the end of the caulking nozzle. (dummy note: make sure that you cut the end of the nozzle first or you will have to do this twice.) Make sure that it is snug on the end then with the piece of duct tape wrap it around the caulk nozzle and the tubing. now you should easily be able to caulk those hard to reach places.

How can a stuck pusher pad be pulled out of a squeeze handle gun that is half way into a tube of silicone calk
We are half way through a tube of silicone caulking rubber that is being forced out the nozzle by a squeeze handle gun. It has a rod and pusher pad to make the caulk flow out the nozzle. The job is finished and we cannot pull the rod and pusher pad out of the tube. Besides cutting into the tube wall, what else can be done to pull out the rod?
Sounds like the silicone has dried around the plunger. No choice but to cut the tube off.
